About Joe Manchin

For many years Joe Manchin was West Virginia's problem. His vanity, his love of coal, his family's control over Marion county, Joe was a typical Good Ol' Boy. If he had been satisfied with being Governor he could have stayed West Virginia's problem. Instead he decided to give himself the Senate seat opened up when the venerable Robert C. Byrd died in 2010.

The Senate open up new vistas of graft and cheating to an innocent boy from the sticks. Manchin took to it like a fish to water. Now he lives on a houseboat, drives a Maserati, and is a popular party host among his colleagues. He's flying high on his own sense of self-importance. Now the whole of the USA gets to see what we've known all along.
